Weight Management
Trying to lose weight on your own may be difficult, but we can help make
it easier with Linda’s simple step-by-step Eat Fit
Be Fit: Health and Weight Management Solutions Program. Adults
enrolling in her eight week private consultation sessions, using her
book and guidelines, will receive all the tools that have already helped
thousands. Linda specializes in helping families with overweight children
and teens (see below).
EAT FIT TO BE FIT™ Family Group Weight Management Program for Overweight
Children, Teens and Parents
This Program offers a small group setting for families to learn
ways to create healthier lifestyle habits to aid in weight management in
a way to boost self esteem. This is an simple five week program designed
to share common feelings and obstacles associated with a child or teen dealing

Cardiovascular Disorders
Whether you are an adult, teen or child, Linda Arpino has worked with cardiologists
and pediatrician dyslipidemia and overweight specialist, Marc Jacobsen,
MD trained and educated on the special needs to lower cholesterol, triglycerides,
and manage high blood pressure with lipid lowering foods and activity to
boost beneficial high density lipoproteins.
Linda recently presented on this subject at local pediatric societies.
Diabetes
Diabetes education is provided by our specially trained team for individuals
or group education. Supermarket tours are also available. Self Management
and living a full productive life whether it is going out to eat or traveling
or at home, we can help.
Eating Disorders
Treating anorexia, bulimia and compulsive eating disorders requires coordination
with a physician and a therapist. With over 30 year of experience in treatment
Linda offers the nutrition counseling component and always work as a team
of your choice including a physician, psychiatrist and eating disordered
therapist.
Allergies and Food Sensitivities
Our immune system and unique body responses are affected by the foods we choose.
After diagnosis by your primary care physician, allergy specialist or gastroenterologist
we can help you design menus, recipes and meal plans to help you with the
following disorders:

Oncology
Linda Arpino, MA, RD, CDN is part of an integrative medicine program and the
New York Medical College working with a team of oncology specialists who
treat children, teens and young adults with acute leukemia and non- Hodgkin’s
lymphoma. Linda offers services to address the nutritional needs while undergoing
chemotherapy and in recovery. Preventative services are also available for
individuals with a family history of cancer or just want to build the immune
system with healthy lifestyle choices.
Home Consults

The Family Nutrition Makeover Program is 2 hours long. Our
registered dietitian comes to your home to create a healthy home
environment. An assessment of family eating habits, not individual
habits, is reviewed, including food products purchased, snacks
eaten most often, meal timing, cooking styles, cultural food preferences
and portion management. Recommendations are made to foster healthier
lifestyle choices. With your input we suggest a redesign of your
cooking methods and food choices, with up to four family members
present. After
this initial assessment, outcome goals and guidelines are provided.

Homebound Nutrition Consults due to illness, post-operative
recovery, or aging. A specially trained dietitian will come to your
home and evaluate your nutritional needs and create a healthy meal
plan and recommendation. Helping you if necessary with tube feedings,
evaluation of nutrient density to boost a healthy immune system and
weight issues can be addressed.

Group Programs
Group Weight Loss Classes
Our six week program is comprehensive and coordinated with your health care
providers. Meal plans, menus, supplements behavior therapy, lifestyle, and
exercise, dining out, grocery guides, recipes and more are included. This

Group Diabetes Education Classes
Nutrition classes are run by a certified diabetes educator to help individuals
with Type 1 or 2 diabetes balance meal timing, create balanced meal plans,
set portions, and exercise. Monthly group sessions and private consultation

Parent Support Group for Overweight Children
Meetings are held upon need September through July. Parents are given
tools to help set health boundaries with their children without creating
feelings of deprivation. A child counselor and registered dietitian
offer this series.
Supplements Available
Dietary Supplements such as multivitamins,
calcium, or vitamin D are available for children, teens and adults, although
our first choice is to eat a balanced diet which may not require supplements.
Sometimes our needs are beyond what our intake provides. We offer quality
dietary supplements for all ages over 2 years old, as well as for vegan,
vegetarian, and lactose intolerant individuals. Evidence based studies show
that meal replacements may be of benefit when you have more than 50 pounds
or more to lose. These and other products are available at our office, as
well as a direct shipping program. |
