Linda Arpino, RD, MA, CDN

Linda is internationally recognized as a registered dietitian and author. Energetic, motivational, sincere, cutting edge and caring are words that have been used to describe Linda Arpino, registered dietitian and New York certified dietitian / nutritionist.  Linda became interested early in life in health and fitness. She was asked to join a national dance company by age 12. Growing up around a grandfather and dad with diabetes motivated Linda to promote nutrition and fitness.  Living in an Italian home centered around food and culture, Linda learned that it takes time and a new way of thinking to change deeply-ingrained negative eating habits.

Linda’s years of experience as director of clinical nutrition in hospitals and health care settings, as a college professor, eating disorder consultant, and administering corporate health plans of fortune 500 companies, has contributed to her success in her private practice, as an author, and a recognized media personality.

As president of Linda Arpino & Associates, Inc., she provides nutrition and wellness programs to individuals and groups. Knowing how important delicious food is to people, she now offers interactive nutrition and cooking classes to groups and at culinary facilities. In addition, she offers training seminars and consulting to colleagues on developing and growing their private practice.  She is the author of Nutrition Practice:  Policy and Procedure Manual and Eat Fit, Be Fit: Health and Weight Management Solutions.

For over 28 years, Linda Arpino has devoted her life to helping people eat healthy and make rewarding lifestyle choices.  Educated at Syracuse University and New York University, she received degrees in Clinical Nutrition, Education, and Community Nutrition.  Throughout her career she has been an active leader in the American Dietetic Association and member of the practice groups, serving on boards of the Nutrition Entrepreneurs, Cardiovascular Nutritionist, and Weight Management. She is also a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association, Eating Disorders Referral Network, and International Association of Culinary Professionals. She is certified by the American Dietetic Association in adult, teen, and pediatric weight management.

She is serving as 2005-2006 President of the Westchester Dietetic Association and is New York State Dietetic Association Media Spokesperson for television, radio and print media.  Ms. Arpino specializes in obesity, eating disorders, sports nutrition, woman’s health, polycystic ovary syndrome and heart conditions.  She actively treats children, teens and adults for all medical conditions and in prescribing vegetarian diets.

Ms. Arpino is a sports enthusiast whose interest include cycling, swimming, tennis, skiing, dance, and yoga.  She has been a personal trainer providing instruction at gymnastics facilities, in homes, summer camps, and in health clubs.  She was a consultant to the New York State Department of Athletics to train all New York State athletic wrestling coaches.

She is the creator of the children’s weight loss program called Eat Fit / Be Fit™ and an adult program called Life Focus for Health™.

As a savvy national authority on nutrition, she speaks regularly to schools, corporation’s, professional organizations, on television and radio.  She writes articles for print media.

At her country home in the Catskill Mountain’s, she enjoys gardening, writing, hiking and recipe development.

Linda especially enjoys helping people with special needs. Her experience as a single parent with one deaf child and one hearing child has made her sensitive to people with special needs.  She learned to cope first-hand with balancing a family with special needs and personal time.  This has helped her to be sensitive to the diverse needs of the people she serves.

Linda enjoys working with people of all cultures and especially with families as a whole.
