Linda is internationally recognized as a registered dietitian and author.
Energetic,
motivational, sincere, cutting edge and caring are words
that have been used to describe Linda
Arpino, registered dietitian and New York certified
dietitian / nutritionist. Linda became interested early in
life in health and fitness. She was asked to join a national dance
company by age 12. Growing up around a grandfather and dad with
diabetes motivated Linda to promote nutrition and fitness.
Living in an Italian
home centered around food and culture, Linda learned that it takes time and a new way of thinking to change
deeply-ingrained negative
eating habits.
Linda’s years of
experience as director of clinical nutrition in hospitals
and health care settings, as a college professor, eating disorder
consultant, and administering corporate health plans of fortune 500 companies, has contributed to her success in her private
practice, as an author, and a recognized media personality.
As president of Linda Arpino & Associates, Inc., she
provides nutrition and wellness programs to individuals and
groups. Knowing how important delicious food is to people, she now offers interactive nutrition and cooking classes to groups and at culinary facilities. In addition, she offers training seminars and
consulting to colleagues on developing and growing their
private practice. She is the author of Nutrition
Practice: Policy and Procedure Manual and Eat Fit, Be Fit: Health and Weight Management Solutions.
For over 28 years, Linda Arpino has devoted her life to
helping people eat healthy and make rewarding lifestyle
choices. Educated at Syracuse University and New York
University, she received degrees in Clinical Nutrition,
Education, and Community Nutrition. Throughout her career she
has been an active leader in the American Dietetic
Association and member of the practice groups, serving on
boards of the Nutrition Entrepreneurs, Cardiovascular Nutritionist, and Weight Management. She is also a member of the American Association of
Diabetes Educators, Polycystic
Ovary Syndrome Association, Eating Disorders Referral Network,
and International
Association of Culinary Professionals. She is
certified by the American Dietetic Association in adult, teen, and pediatric weight management.
She is serving as 2005-2006 President of the Westchester
Dietetic Association and is New York State Dietetic Association Media
Spokesperson for television, radio and print media.
Ms. Arpino specializes in obesity, eating disorders, sports
nutrition, woman’s health, polycystic ovary syndrome and
heart conditions. She actively treats children, teens and
adults for all medical conditions and in
prescribing vegetarian diets.
Ms. Arpino is a sports enthusiast whose interest include cycling,
swimming, tennis, skiing, dance, and yoga. She has been a
personal trainer providing instruction at
gymnastics facilities, in homes, summer camps, and in health
clubs. She was a consultant to the New York State
Department of Athletics to train all New York State athletic wrestling
coaches.
She is the creator of the children’s weight loss program
called Eat Fit / Be Fit™ and an adult program called Life
Focus for Health™.
As a savvy national authority
on nutrition, she speaks regularly to schools,
corporation’s, professional organizations, on
television and radio. She writes articles for print media.
At her country home in the Catskill Mountain’s, she enjoys
gardening, writing, hiking and recipe development.
Linda especially enjoys helping people with special needs. Her experience as a single parent with one deaf child and one
hearing child has made her sensitive to people with special needs. She learned to cope first-hand
with balancing a family with special needs and personal time.
This has helped her to be sensitive to the diverse needs of
the people she serves.
Linda enjoys working with people of all
cultures and especially with families as a whole.
